For this week's edition of "let's try some weird foreign cheese and see if we like it," the cheese is Cambozola from Käserei Champignon. This is a German product, from Bavaria. It's a soft creamy cheese with some blue veining, something of a combination of Camembert and Gorgonzola, with mild flavor. I like it a lot.

The Discovery Channel's "How do they Do it?" featured a segment on the famous bucket wheel excavators mining lignite in Germany, specifically the mines near the Schwarze Pumpe power plant in eastern Germany. I happen to know that there are nice models of the excavators in the Deutschen Bergbau-Museum Bochum, the German mining museum in Bochum.

It turns out the Google Earth images are good enough to show the excavators in the mines and the power plant.
