beige_alertThe Discovery Channel's "How do they Do it?" featured a segment on the famous bucket wheel excavators mining lignite in Germany, specifically the mines near the Schwarze Pumpe power plant in eastern Germany. I happen to know that there are nice models of the excavators in the Deutschen Bergbau-Museum Bochum, the German mining museum in Bochum.
It turns out the Google Earth images are good enough to show the excavators in the mines and the power plant.
