I went downtown to Central Library today (Megawatts and Megatons) and wandered down to the lake (the big lake, Michigan). I spent some time chatting on the cell phone with Joyce. One of these days we ought to take a walk together, rather than separately and chatting by phone. I also called Mom while near the art museum, by the lake. She has mountains in Arizona, but we have the sixth-largest lake in the world here. I’ve been using the cell phone a lot more now that I’m on a different calling plan with more minutes and included long distance.
There are lots of people out sailing on this nice and somewhat windy day, but I saw even more boats patiently waiting for their owners to come and sail them.
I stopped at the Alterra coffee shop by the lake. I tried the ham and provolone panini sandwich. It was good, but rather plain, just ham, cheese, and bread, and at $6.50, I don’t think it is a good deal. I’d say that their chocolate and coffee drinks tend to run toward too much coffee, not enough chocolate for my taste, but my taste is pretty close to all chocolate, no coffee, so your opinion may be different.
