fun weekend
Oct. 30th, 2005 10:01 pmSaturday included a trip downtown by bicycle to the Milwaukee Public Market, where one of the people at Sushi A Go Go recognized me from my livejournal entry about the place. He’d Googled on “Sushi A Go Go Milwaukee” and found it that way. He thanked me for the publicity. I also got a bunch of apples from the apple lady.
Saturday night was the fannish Halloween party at Lytheria, which, as usual, included a filk on the third floor. We had a small group and Art dragged out lots of stuff he doesn’t play much. I ended up playing a few things I don’t do much, plus something I only try out in public occasionally, Bach’s Fugue in Gm on the flute, which went OK. Bach used a lot of notes, and I’m only playing part of it! There’s still the other notes on the right hand, the left hand, and the pedals. Also, it occurs to me that now that I know five sets of words to the tune of The Lady, I ought to learn to play it better. Jason has a nice fingerstyle thing worked out that I ought to work on. I’ll have to ask him about it next time I see him.
Today, Joyce and I discovered that the scones at Cedarburg Coffee Roastery are really, really good. Also, they sell nice chocolate at Govida. And good steak at Outback.
