Indeed. You should take up marathon running, or Nordic skiing, or speed skating. You get to hang out with your fellow athletes.

Uh, I was thinking of being the guy beating the drum on the trireme, actually.

The only competitive sport I'm any good at is contest rocketry. Standing absolutely still feeling for thermals is more my level of exercise.

You could be the cox, yelling at the muscular rowers through the speaker system, except normally they want the tiniest possible person for that job.

All I know about feeling for thermals involves actually being up in a sailplane. A sailplane is so aerodynamic you're practically lying down. Too bad airplanes are expensive.
