More Milwaukee Wandering

beige_alertI have been enjoying wandering around the city. I bought a copy of Jared Diamond’s Why Is Sex Fun? from Downtown Books, a white chocolate mocha from Starbucks, and wandered through Broadway Paper, Brass Light Gallery and From Afar.
I’ve walked past the Brass Light Gallery a few times and finally decided to stop in. The building is a beautiful old structure with a funky open freight elevator in the back (whether operable or just decorative I do not know) and a lot of fancy lights on display on fancy antique tables. Much of their inventory is so far outside of my price range that light leaving my price range would take a long time to get there, but some of the items are more-or-less thinkable, though I’m not in the market for light fixtures currently.
From Afar sells expensive furniture, art, and otherwise antique expensive stuff. Lots of fun, though again not really the kind of place I’m going to be buying much from.
It is nice to have the MP3 player to listen to when walking.
