Chocolate Cherry Wine
Sep. 10th, 2004 09:21 pmHaving made fun of a number of beverages recently, it is nice to have something to write a more positive review about.
The Door Peninsula Winery makes a number of interesting wines, one of which is Chocolate Cherry Wine. Who could resist trying such a thing? Not me.
They describe it as, “a sweet cherry wine with a hint of chocolate flavor.” It is indeed much like their plain cherry wine with just a hint of a dark chocolate scent and flavor. If I was a genuine wine snob I’d have a vast array of pretentious phrases to describe the flavor, but the best I can manage is to say that it’s a sweet wine with a bit of cherry sourness and, of course, 11% ethanol, with that hint of dark chocolate. I do like their regular cherry wine, as well, which I can buy locally.
Residents of the continental United States can obtain Door Peninsula Winery’s products by mail order if dropping by their Wisconsin location seems inconvenient.
