Gizmo!

In the KK True Films blog I just saw this entry about Gizmo. It can be found on Google Video, it turns out! This is a 1977 collection of weird newsreel films of people with weird inventions or doing weird physical things or demonstrating odd performance skills. It has a really excellent soundtrack. I remember seeing this on PBS television as a child and finding it the most bizarrely fascinating thing. After all these years some of the music is still bouncing around in my head, and it's really delightful to see (and hear!) it again.

(Sing: "We don't make 'em any more. I closed my eyes and nearly fell through the floor. You don't even know what you'd be using it for. He told me we don't make 'em any more." About 27 minutes into the film.)
