heee! Agreed - my son wasn't quite sure if the gerbil was male or female, so tried to choose a name usable either (he's quite into Greek mythology [F], and really likes the Artemis Fowl series [M]). Took mom a bit to get used to the mousey color tho - i've always had brown/brown-white toned ones before.
