weekend update
Jan. 14th, 2008 11:24 amJoyce and I went to Crawdaddy's for dinner on Saturday night. I had, as I often do, the Alaskan king crab, which is basically a giant armor-plated underwater bug. When you taste that good, you need armor. Fortunately, I won the fight with the crab, aided by the fact that not only am I bigger than the crab, but it was already dead. Our dessert was "Chocolate Beyond Reason."
We wandered out to Lakeshore State Park after dinner. It's very pretty at night, a nice view of the lit-up city. The path around the park is lit, as is the bridge at the north end. Some night I'll have to go out there with camera and tripod.
On Sunday I found some fleecy clothing in the clearance racks at REI at irresistible prices. *warm*
Other news: Hofbräu München Münchner Kindl Hefe Weizen is my favorite of the beers I've tried.

Date: 2008-01-14 09:07 pm (UTC)We do have (these days, at least) all sorts of delicious things here. Too bad we're know more for fast food. All the McDonald's I've eaten in the last few years I ate, bizarrely, in Germany. (The first time I was in a McDonald's I didn't eat anything, but, later, in another city, the gang was getting take-out and, hey, free cheeseburger! Can't refuse!)
As for beer, I never liked beer, but it turns out Germans know a thing or two about beer....
