Richard Collins retires his P210

In the latest issue of Flying Magazine Richard L. Collins writes that he decided to retire his airplane, a Cessna P210, after 8963 hours and 28 years of service. Collins has been writing for Flying seemingly forever (since before I was born) and he bought that P210 back when I was five. He concluded that the plane was getting old and hard to maintain, and he's not so young anymore either and isn't flying it very much, so it just didn't make sense to keep it any longer.

I've been reading Flying on and off since I was a kid, and he's been writing about flying around in his P210 the whole time. It's a bit strange to think that much of my life I've been at least vaguely aware of Richard and his P210, reading his column in Flying, and now he's 73 years old and the plane is no longer flying. Time marches on and all.
