Things that make you go HUH?
Nov. 5th, 2007 03:21 pmSeen in the Journal Sentinel this morning, "Russian nationalists avow 'white power'." "A white supremacist from Texas lifted his black cowboy hat into the air as he stepped forward to address thousands of Russian nationalists at a rally Sunday in Moscow." "...the crowd of mostly young Russian men raised their right hands in a Nazi salute and chanted 'White power!' in English."
So.... Russian ultranationalists chanted in English with a dude from Texas. While doing the Nazi salute. Russians and Nazis, not generally on friendly terms in the past. Nor Russians and Texans, either, for that matter. In general, it's great to see groups that historically hated each other getting along, but maybe this is an exception.
