Snow!

Sure enough, the -17C temperatures seemed to keep the number of skiers down, but a few of us were out at McMiller in the Southern Kettle Moraine state forest today. It was actually a beautiful sunny day, even if slightly cold.

The have shooting ranges there, but they were closed this weekend, so we had peace and quiet.

It was a little warmer down here in Illinois, -9C or so (though you wouldn't know it from the way the weatherman on the radio was carrying on) and I spent a little time at Kickapoo State Park. Less time than I had intended, because they had the access road to the chunk of the park I most wanted to wander around closed for no apparent reason, and I came home with an hour of daylight left.
