Two photos, my bike with new panniers and my folding solar PV panel:
I'm charging 4 AA NiMH cells and my cell phone here. I spent some time after work reading a magazine and enjoying the sunny day while making use of the sun. The solar panel is flexible and folds up to a quite compact size. It's a Sunlinq made by Global Solar using copper indium gallium diselenide solar cells. This version can produce a maximum of 12 watts at 12-ish volts under full sun.
The Tour Easy has my new Arkel RT-40 panniers on it. These are a bit bigger than my old ones but are not overwhelmingly big. They seem very well made.

It really works! Red LEDs indicate charging. There is something amazing about it. Unfold flat thing, set it in sun, electricity comes out.
