Lucid Dream

I had my longest lucid dream in a long time this morning. It began with dreaming that I could not read the time on my alarm clock. After fiddling with it a while, I realized that this was dream sign. I flew around the room a bit, then tried to fly out through the wall. I got stuck, as I often do, and went back into the room for a while, then succeeded in exiting. The inside was, more or less, the room I actually sleep in. The outside was a different city.

It started out night, and I remembered to take a good look at the stars. I’ve very good at dreaming bright, numerous stars. Really, bright points or dots come up a lot in my dreams, whether as dust grains in the air or stars in the sky. At some point it became day, but I didn’t really notice that sudden change. It’s really interesting to wander around in a dream looking at all the detail your brain can imagine. Stars, tree bark, people. The sense of touch works as well, of course. Tree bark, cloth, a woman’s breast...

Anyway, lots of fun. I was in a pretty dreamy state after I woke up from it, slipping into and out of dreaming many times before I had to get up and go to work.

The prime way I figure out I'm dreaming-about-being-awake is that I try to turn off the radio and can't. Even when I push the switch, the voices continue ... because out in reality, my radio's on. Tends to really piss me off, in the dream. :->
