-17°C this morning in Milwaukee. I’m blaming Canada. It’s actually warmer in Winnipeg, -11°C with light snow. You can have your cold air back. It is 11 degrees Celsius warmer in Toronto, Ontario than in Toronto, Illinois.

-1°C in Green Valley, Arizona (they made a big fuss over the “frost warning”), but they are forecasting a high of 18. (Dew point: -20!) It’s +7 and raining in Emden, Germany. (Is it really always raining in Emden? It looks like it, from the weather reports I see.)

It does this from time to time around here, so this isn't really amazingly cold by local standards, but it's pretty cold, and usually it doesn't get this cold this early in the season.

Is it really always raining in Emden?

*ggg* Last time when I visited [livejournal.com profile] aryana_filker it was a warm, nearly hot day in june and I was going by train. I had to call her twice because both of the trains I had to take were late. The second time I called Aryana I complained about the heat in the train, and she tried to console me and told me that as it was so hot we would have a barbecue that evening. And then, we had about half an hour to go, the sky suddenly darkend and a thunderstorm came in - and within minutes it was raining so heavily that I couldn't see more than five meters or so.
When I finally arrived at Emden, Aryana stood at the platform with a huuuuuge umbrella... and we roasted the barbecue stuff in the pan, because the weather just wouldn't hold...

Next day we went to the seaside and walked along the shore for a few minutes. And guess what happened: when we returned to the car, it started to rain...

It looks like by Friday we'll be up to -8°C....

"huuuuuge umbrella" That's sort of a hint that rain is common, I guess.
