Cherries, fresh and fermented
Jul. 19th, 2004 10:35 pmI just bought another bag of wonderful cherries from the Outpost Co-Op in Milwaukee.
Speaking of cherries, the Door Peninsula Winery, of Door County, Wisconsin, makes a nice Sweet Cherry Wine that I’d have to describe, as someone who likes sweet things and isn’t much of a drinker, as quite nice. This is also available at Outpost.
At 11% ethanol, a glass also leaves me not quite able to walk in a straight line. Surprisingly, it does not completely eliminate my ability to hit the intended notes on flute or guitar. Or, at least I think I still sound OK. Maybe I should bring some to the next filk, so everyone else can think I sound good, too....
I see on their web site that they make a chocolate cherry wine, which certainly sounds worth trying.
