ericcoleman, Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning. This is a Finnish 1h35m full-length fan-film/parody with Star Trek and B5 influences. It’s free, Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivs-NonCommercial. Yes, it’s a 500-odd megabyte download, but my cable modem had a tailwind and I got over half a megabyte a minute on the torrent. It plays fine on my old PIII with mplayer under Linux. They want you to see it---they make it as easy as possible.
It’s very funny. It was very funny even in the first half, before I started drinking wine and eating chocolate. For an old B5 fan like me, all the B-13 scenes are just hilarious. The effects are quite good. Some of the acting is a bit stiff, but in lots of places stiff acting is just what you want. The English subtitles are fine, and hilarious. There are fan-subs in many languages. Or, you know, if you speak Finnish, you are in luck.
You must see this if you are a Star Trek or B-5 fan.
