Yesterday, the cable shifting my bike’s rear derailleur started coming apart. While driving my car to the bike shop to pick up a new cable I noticed a strong vibration at and above 55 MPH. Also, I’m felling a bit ill. At least the cable replacement went as easily as you’d think it should. Loosen clamp, pull out cable, put new cable in, tighten clamp, fiddle with adjustment until it shifts right. I’m sure the shop will charge a lot more for whatever they do to my car next week than the $2.80 the shift cable cost me. I am feeling better today, though.
