Seems slow, but actually isn't

When ascending stairs with Joyce, she always seems slow to me. I normally climb stair much faster on my own. Sometimes, however, we’ll get stuck behind other people, and she’ll have to slow way way down. Even when those other people are three decades younger than her. So even though she seems slow, she’s actually much faster than average. I guess I’m light, so climbing is easier.
