Ice Skating
Mar. 12th, 2005 01:06 pmLast night I learned to do backwards crossover turns, and I think that has improved my forward crossovers, too. I also got enough practice in the speed skater’s hands-behind-the-back aerodynamic posture to be able to do fast laps that way. It really effects the balance more than you might think, and takes some getting used to. Not that I have great form or anything, but it’s the right general idea. For the last week or two I’ve felt like I haven’t really been learning much new, so Friday was a very productive night. Red Arrow was uncrowded enough to practice fast backward skating, which is not always the case.
