Down in the mall
Nov. 24th, 2004 08:34 pmI noticed several things this evening while at the mall. One is that the cell phone salespeople are by far the most aggressive. Most people pretty much wait until a customer at least stops at the shop before trying to sell them something. The cell phone people call out to you as you walk by, offering a great deal on a phone. I’ve actually been thinking of getting a new phone, but I’m not the least bit interested in switching companies (I have Verizon, and the phone almost always works and there are never any surprises on the bill).
I also saw a cooking utensil called an “oatmeal pot” that sold for $90. Somehow, oatmeal sounds like it ought to be cheaper. What is French for oatmeal? Maybe they should use the French term if they want $90 for it. It was a French pot, from Le Creuset.
