vacation

So far today, I’ve been annoyed while trying to copy files from a 5.25-inch floppy disk to a 3.5 inch disk so that a semi-modern computer could pass them over the network to the printer. Floppy disk don’t work too reliably. I spent lots of time waiting and watching the peptide synthesizer count down the seconds between clicking valves running all the tests to see why it won’t work. Conclusion: No idea. Everything seems fine.

The good news is, I’m taking next week off. I’m not even going to really do anything. I’ll probably go to the Public Museum, the Art Museum, maybe, if I feel motivated, go to Chicago and, I don’t know, wander. (We have Amtrak service to downtown Chicago. That might be fun.)
