I have to ask where you got those: sabellak, a co-worker of mine, is dairy-allergic, and so can't eat most doughnuts. She's been raving about the doughnuts she got from the vegan bakery in Las Vegas for months - if there's a source closer to home, I'd like to know!
Check the Nutrilicious retail locater (http://www.nutrilicious.com/retail_outlets.htm). Here in Milwaukee the Outpost Co-op sells them. They have a zillion varieties.
It's doughnut-like but instead of a ring it's a little ball. The name comes from the idea that it's the leftover part that would have filled the hole in the middle of a donut. Photo of a plate full of them here (http://www.nutrilicious.com/donuts/sugar_hole.htm). (Note that there is a diversity of opinions on how to spell doughnut/donut...)
