If you could send a message back

On #filkhaven last night little_cinnamon observed that there are an "infeasible number of photos of Beige with women asleep on his shoulder," referring to this photo of two tired tourists. I said I wish I could send a message to my past self. Something like, "Don't worry. You may not be getting hugs now, but, in the future, women from around the world will sleep on your shoulders, sometimes two at a time."

What sorts of messages would you like to send back to yourself?

Trust your eyes and trust your senses more. Just because s/he seems to be doing things that conflict with what s/he says s/he is like, doesn't mean that (a) you misunderstood, or (b) you're mistaken about what you think you see. Not everybody has the same feeling toward "Truth" that you do.

Count your mother's friends, use that number to weight her advice about people. No it's not normal or inevitable that when you grow up you don't have any friends.
