I went to the art museum today. I walk past often, but don't go in enough. It was very nearly the last day to see "Photographs from the Ends of the Earth," photos from polar expeditions. That was a highly appropriate thing to see, given that the weather changed from fog, +7°C, and calm yesterday to -7°C, blowing snow, and winds gusting up to 80km/hr today. Fun to walk in. The little wind turbine at Discovery World was not happy with that wind, and was making some amazing noises, like a loud mechanical didgeridoo. This is the sort of day that makes you appreciate the mechanical engineering challenges of wind turbines.
I did end up with a minor backache. Cause: Walking slowly around the museum. Slow walking makes my back hurt. Fast walking, hauling stuff up hills, lifting awkwardly-shaped cast-iron objects weighing nearly as much as myself, running, shoveling snow, skiing, cycling, and skating might cause other pains, but backache is caused by slow walking and standing while carrying nothing. If you've ever walked with me you'll understand that one thing I don't do much is walk slowly, so I guess I need slow walking specific exercise.
I roasted a chicken and prepared potatoes and stuffing to go with it, so I have some nice food. I haven't been doing enough real cooking. Much nicer to have a real meal instead of...mikrowellengeeignet Kraftstoff. :)
