The Germania Building
Jan. 9th, 2007 03:05 pmMilwaukee's Germania Building changed owners recently. "The Germania Building was built in 1896 by George Brumder to house his Germania Publishing Co., which was then the largest publisher of German-language newspapers in the United States." It's one of the city's interesting-looking old buildings, though I don't think I have any photos of it. I do have some of the Mitchell Building, which is also mentioned in that article. Say what you like about modern architecture, but the new buildings lack such things as the gear lady, not to mention boobies.
