One of the incubators here at work is low on water or CO₂ or whatever else it is that the microbes need and thus its alarm is sounding. All the incubators have the same annoying high-pitched screech, and the most aggravating part is that the continuous high-pitched sound is hard to localize, so you’ll see people wandering aimlessly, tilting their heads back and fourth, trying to figure out which one it is, and thus who’s problem it is.
