I noticed that Flickr wasn’t displaying the camera type and offering the EXIF data (lens, shutter speed, aperture, etc) on the photos I’ve uploaded recently. First I wondered if it was a Flickr problem, maybe the databases being slow to update and synchronize. Then I realized it was a problem with the updated version of the Gimp I installed recently.

I spent lots of time updating other things, including the ufraw file converter and the exif library. That didn’t actually fix my problem, but the new version of ufraw is better, so not a total waste. I spent lots of time googling for information. Finally, I decided to give up for now and use a workaround to copy the data over to the edited files after saving them from the Gimp, which I’d used briefly in the past, when I first installed ufraw and didn’t have the exif import working properly. The good news: As I started to edit my upload script to insert the workaround, I saw that the workaround was already there, commented out. Easier than I was expecting :)
