I had a dental appointment this morning, and since it was raining, I drove my car. By the time I got to work, at about 9:30, the lot I usually park in was full. So I drove back out to good old Lot C. Which now has a gate on it. The sensor you have to hold your ID up to is mounted really, really high, so I had to actually get out of my car to reach it. I don’t know if they guy who designed it drives a dump truck or if that’s just the only pole they had on hand. That lot was almost full, too. I tell you, motoring is a nuisance.

Train station
Sep. 13th, 2005 04:30 pmThere is a proposal in the works to remodel the Amtrak station in Milwaukee and merge the Greyhound station into it. The architect’s rendering is very nice looking. The current station is at roughly the peak of ugliness, beat up, but not yet run down enough to be a picturesque ruin. Best quote from the Journal-Sentinel article: “The station is now fronted by a fortress-like facade that Greenstreat labeled ‘very useful for sustaining heavy shelling’ but not very attractive.”
