Here Come The Irregulars

Today’s Frank And Ernest cartoon is sure to appeal to those learning this crazy language. Or any other language, really, but this joke is in English.

Hahaha!

I always hated it how the teachers used to trick us with every new language we learnt - "This rule applies to all verbs - except for some VERY few exceptions."

Very few my arse :p

I hated it too Steffi. *lol*

Exactly. Endless chances to make the native speaker wince.

So what languages have you studied, besides the obvious two?

*g* I agree with Steffi - damn irregular verbs!

Damn grammatical gender, too! That's a plot to make the foreigners stand out, right?

Yes, but it often sounds cute.
And by the way - many Germans don't know the finesse of the grammar, you won't believe how often things get confused. It always makes me wince... and a foreigner can't be supposed to know things even many natives don't get right.
